Job Description

·       Develop and implement comprehensive QAQC plans and procedures for civil and structural works.

·       Define quality standards and ensure they align with project specifications, contracts, and regulations.

·       Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor construction activities and compliance with quality standards.

·       Oversee the inspection of materials, equipment, and workmanship throughout the project.

·       Coordinate and manage all quality testing (e.g., soil testing, concrete strength, material certifications).

·       Ensure testing is performed according to ITP and established schedules and standards.

·       Identify and address non-conformance issues, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and documented.

·       Track and report non-conformances, implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.

·       Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure quality control procedures are followed.

·       Provide guidance and training on QAQC standards to project teams and subcontractors.

·       Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality assurance activities.

·       Prepare detailed QAQC reports and present findings to the Project Manager and senior leadership.

·       Ensure all civil and structural work complies with local, national, and international building codes, standards, and regulations.

·       Ensure adherence to environmental and safety standards during construction processes

·       Identify areas for improvement in construction quality processes and recommend solutions.

·       Ensure quality improvement initiatives are implemented to optimize project outcomes.

·       Identify quality-related risks early in the project lifecycle and propose mitigation strategies.

·       Monitor high-risk activities closely to ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols.

Job Requirements

·       Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

·       Master’s degree or additional certifications in quality management or construction safety is preferred.

·       10+ years of experience in quality assurance and quality control, with at least 3 years in a managerial role overseeing civil and structural projects.

·       Hands-on experience working with large-scale, mixed-use, or infrastructure projects.

·       Extensive experience with construction methodologies, material specifications, and structural design principles.

·       Familiarity with quality control procedures related to concrete, steel, soil testing, and other construction materials.

·       Experience in managing risk assessments related to quality and safety and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

·       Proven ability to oversee QAQC programs, identify quality issues early, and implement preventative measures.

·       Experience with project management and QAQC software for reporting and data analysis.

·       Proven experience in managing and mentoring QAQC teams, as well as working effectively with other departments such as procurement, engineering, and construction management.

·       Proficient in performing site inspections, material testing, and managing laboratory testing procedures.

·       Strong ability to identify and address non-conformance issues with precision.

·       Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving quality issues through effective corrective actions.

·       Proven ability to lead QAQC teams, train staff, and collaborate with project teams to maintain high-quality standards.

·       Solid understanding of civil and structural building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASTM, ACI, BS, Eurocodes).
