Job Description
· Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety policies and procedures.
· Ensure all safety protocols comply with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
· Conduct regular site safety audits and risk assessments.
· Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
· Provide safety training to project teams, contractors, and subcontractors.
· Organize and lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.
· Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
· Address unsafe practices and provide guidance on proper safety procedures.
· Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents to determine root causes.
· Prepare detailed reports and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
· Maintain safety records, incident reports, and safety logs.
· Provide regular safety reports and updates to the Project Manager and senior leadership.
· Work closely with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure safety is prioritized across all teams.
· Liaise with regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with permits and safety regulations.
· Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure teams are trained in first aid and emergency procedures.
· Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related emergencies on-site.
· Foster a culture of safety and encourage proactive safety measures across all levels of the project team.
· Lead by example in maintaining a high standard of safety and health practices.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
· OSHA certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour Construction) or First Aid or CPR certification equivalent is highly preferred.
· 5+ years of experience in safety management within construction, preferably in large-scale mixed-use developments or similar projects.
· Extensive knowledge of local, national, and international safety regulations, including OSHA and environmental health standards.
· Previous hands-on experience working in construction environments, with a focus on safety management and compliance.
· Proven track record of leading safety programs and working collaboratively with project teams, contractors, and suppliers.
· Experience in developing and executing emergency response plans and managing safety during critical situations.
· In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices in construction.
· Strong skills in identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing corrective actions.
· Ability to train and educate staff on safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
· Skilled in investigating accidents and incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
· Ability to develop practical solutions to safety-related challenges and lead by example, fostering a safety-conscious culture among workers and contractors.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills to report safety issues and collaborate with teams effectively.
· Keen eye for detail to identify safety risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
