Job Description

• Have strong experience in an end-to-end credit control role within a complex, high-volume environment;

• Manage a team of credit control officers and cash collectors;

• Implement and review credit control procedures and policies to ensure timely collection of receivables

• Evaluate credit and provide recommendations on credit terms and credit limits

• Monitor customer accounts and recommend action to maintain healthy aging within approved

credit terms and limits

• Ensure that credit risk is understood and controlled, cash collection is maximised and that

monthly, quarterly targets are met;

• Review customers aging periodically and provide for doubtful debt according to group policy

• Monitor and review doubtful debt accounts and update for any recovery or permanent write off

• Responsible for the production of ad hoc debt reports;

• Staff management and development;

• Review, update and analyse the accounts receivable ledger on a daily basis;

• Be responsible for training, managing and providing guidance to the credit control team;

• Prepare monthly related credit control reporting for the department;

• Review existing or recommend business rules to reduce bad debt rate;

• Conduct credit assessment of new and re-contract corporate accounts and review ad hoc statement of accounts for the purpose of debt chasing;

• Liaise with internal and external parties for credit risk review approval;

• Actively participate in transformation project in areas of discovery, user acceptance testing and migration activities; and ad hoc project or assignment.

• Work closely with the customers, sales team, and accountants

Job Requirements

• Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or other relevant disciplines.

• At least 10 years of experience focusing on AR and Credit Control.

• Conscientious and approachable individual with high level of integrity;

• Able to work in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment;

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications;

• Candidates with a telecommunication background will be advantageous.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Good business acumen for problem-solving
