Job Description

Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement

·       Engage with potential and existing customers to understand business objectives, technical requirements, existing environments, challenges, and cloud transformation initiatives.

·       Conduct discovery workshops, cloud readiness assessments, technical assessments, and solution discussions.

·       Assess existing on-premises and cloud infrastructure, workloads, dependencies, risks, constraints, and opportunities for improvement.

·       Act as the technical lead during customer meetings, presentations, architecture discussions, workshops, and solution demonstrations.

·       Articulate AWS architecture best practices, migration approaches, hybrid cloud options, security considerations, and cloud value propositions.

·       Support RFP, RFQ, and tender responses with technical solution design, compliance responses, and supporting documentation.

 

Solution Architecture & Design ;

·       Design end-to-end AWS and hybrid cloud architectures aligned with customer business and technical requirements.

·       Develop high-level and detailed solution architectures for cloud migration, hybrid cloud, backup and disaster recovery, modern applications, containers, data analytics, AI/ML, and security solutions, where applicable.

·       Design solutions in alignment with AWS Well-Architected principles, considering security, reliability, performance efficiency, operational excellence, cost optimization, and sustainability

·       Design cloud networking and hybrid connectivity, including VPCs, subnets, routing, VPN, load balancing, DNS, and integration with existing customer infrastructure.

·       Incorporate appropriate identity and access management, encryption, logging, monitoring, backup, and security controls into proposed architectures.

·       Prepare architecture diagrams, AWS service configurations, infrastructure sizing, capacity calculations, BoMs for applicable on-premises/hybrid components, and implementation approaches.

·       Recommend appropriate AWS services and architecture options based on cost, performance, availability, scalability, security, operational, and business requirements.

 

Technical Proposal Development ;

·       Prepare technical proposals, Statements of Work (SOW), architecture documents, solution presentations, and supporting technical documentation.

·       Define technical scope, assumptions, dependencies, exclusions, responsibilities, implementation requirements, and acceptance criteria.

·       Collaborate with sales, delivery, engineering, and project teams to estimate implementation effort, timelines, resources, and technical dependencies.

·       Prepare AWS cost estimates and conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), cost comparison, and Return on Investment (ROI) analyses where applicable.

·       Develop and conduct Proof of Concept (PoC), demonstrations, technical testing, and solution validation where required.

·       Support technical clarification and solution revisions throughout the opportunity lifecycle.

·       Conduct technical handover to project implementation and operations teams following project award

 

AWS Partnership & Business Development ;

·       Work closely with AWS account teams, partner managers, distributors, and relevant technology partners.

·       Support applicable AWS partner initiatives, opportunity development, migration assessments, funding programs, and technical validation activities.

·       Participate in joint customer engagements, technical workshops, and AWS-sponsored activities where applicable.

·       Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AWS services, architecture best practices, pricing models, partner programs, and relevant cloud technologies.

·       Identify technical upselling and cross-selling opportunities based on customer requirements and existing environments.

 

Technical Leadership ;

·       Provide technical guidance to sales, engineering, project, and implementation teams.

·       Review proposed architectures and technical solutions to ensure feasibility and alignment with customer requirements.

·       Mentor junior engineers and support internal cloud capability development where required.

·       Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, reusable solution architectures, technical standards, and cloud best practices.

·       Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend their adoption where they provide practical business or technical value.
