Job Description

Books Closure &  Management Accounting

·       Ensure timely and accurate monthly books closure.

·       Oversee management accounting processes.

·       Ensure accuracy of:

·       Revenue recognition

·       Inventory valuation

·       Manufacturing accounting

·        Cost allocations

·       Accruals and provisions

·       Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.

 

Manufacturing Accounting &  Costing

·       Oversee manufacturing accounting and inventory costing.

·       Ensure accurate valuation of:

·       Raw Materials

·       Packaging Materials

·       WIP

·       Matured Spirit

·       Finished Goods

·       Review Bills of Material (BOM) regularly.

·       Ensure cost sheets accurately reflect actual manufacturing costs.

·       Analyze:

·       Production yields

·       Material consumption

·       Cost per bottle

·       Packaging losses

·       Manufacturing variances

 

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

·       Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts.

·       Conduct:

·       Actual vs Budget analysis.

·       Actual vs Prior Month/Year analysis.

·       Actual vs Forecast analysis.

·       Actual vs Industry Standards/Norms

·       Prepare scenario models and sensitivity analysis.

·       Build financial models to support strategic decisions.

 

P&L Ownership & Profitability Analysis

·       Own monthly Profit & Loss reporting.

·       Prepare:

·       Company P&L

·       Factory P&L

·       Brand P&L

·       Product P&L (cost card)

·       Channel P&L

·       Analyze

·       Gross Margin

·       Contribution Margin

·       EBITDA

·       Net Profit

·       Identify underperforming areas and recommend corrective actions.

·       Highlight:

·       Margin leakages.

·       Cost inefficiencies.

·       Unprofitable products or customers.

·       Excessive operating costs.

 

Cost Control, Operational Efficiency, Sales & Distribution, and Marketing Effectiveness

·       Drive cost optimization initiatives across operations, sales & distribution (S&D), and marketing functions.

·       Monitor:

·       Manufacturing costs

·       Procurement costs

·       S&D and Logistics costs (including warehousing, transportation, and route efficiency

·       Labor costs

·       Utility costs

·       Marketing and advertising expenditures (Trade & Brand)

 

Evaluate effectiveness of S&D and marketing investments by tracking:

·       Cost per case delivered

·       Route-to-market efficiency

·       Sales productivity per representative

·       Return on marketing investment (ROMI)

·       Customer acquisition and retention costs

·       Brand campaign performance and conversion rates

·       Ensure cost savings initiatives do not compromise:

·       Product quality

·       Brand positioning and equity

·       Customer service level

·       Market reach and availability

·       Long-term profitability

·       Company Reputation

·       Promote data-driven decision-making to balance cost efficiency with revenue growth.

 

ROI & Capital Investment Analysis

·       Evaluate all capital expenditure proposals.

·       Conduct:

·       ROI analysis on all proposed CAPEX projects

·       Perform post-investment reviews.

 

Working Capital Management

·       Lead cash flow forecasting

·       Optimize:

·       Inventory Days

·       Receivable Days

·       Payable Days

·       Ensure adequate liquidity for uninterrupted operations.

·       Ensure suppliers are paid on time to maintain healthy relationships and continuity of supply.

·       Ensure adequate funds are requested for use from CFO’s reserve accounts on a monthly level.

 

Treasury Management & Cash Controls

Oversee receipt of funds from:

·       Customers (Accounts Receivable collections)

·       CFO-managed reserves and funding allocations

·       Monitor daily cash positions and ensure optimal fund allocation.

·       Approve and initiate payments and fund transfers through business unit bank accounts in line with approved budgets and cash plans.

·       Ensure all transactions comply with company SOPs and authorization matrices.

·       Maintain strict segregation of duties between initiation, approval, and recording of transactions.

·       Identify gaps in treasury processes and amend SOPs to strengthen controls.

·       Conduct periodic SOP compliance checks across all business units.

 

Detect and investigate:

·       Fraud risks (independent / unknown caller checks)

·       Unauthorized transactions

·       Errors in cash handling or bank postings

·       Ensure timely bank reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies.

·       Safeguard company funds and minimize financial risk.

 

Business Performance Measurement

Define and monitor KPIs including:

·       Gross Margin %

·       Contribution Margin %

·       Cost per Case

·       Cost per Bottle

·       Cost per Liter

·       Yield %

·       Brand Profitability

·       Product Profitability

·       Business Unit P & L

·       Asset Utilization

·       Payback

 

Systems, Controls & Process Improvement

·       Lead Odoo implementation and enhancements.

·       Ensure integrity of financial master data.

·       Develop dashboards and automated reporting.

·       Document SOPs and strengthen internal controls.

·       Continuously review and update SOPs where gaps or inefficiencies are identified.

·       Ensure adherence to SOPs across all departments.

·       Maintain internal audit readiness.

 

Performance Reporting

·       Prepare monthly business performance dashboards for CEO review.

·       Present financial insights and recommendations.

·       Translate finance into operational actions.

·       Track implementation of agreed improvement initiatives.

·       Highlight major variances in expense headings with excerpts of key items with changes.

Job Requirements

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.

·       CA, CMA, ACCA, CPA or MBA preferred.

·       8-15 years relevant finance experience.

·       Strong Financial planning & Accounting, management accounting, business partnering, and treasury management experience.

·       Strong ERP and Excel modelling skills.
