Job Description

Rotary Equipment Maintenance & Reliability

·       Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and optimize refinery rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, gas generator engines, gearboxes, vacuum pumps, fans, blowers, motors, and auxiliary systems.\

·       Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently to support refinery production targets.

·       Monitor equipment condition and reliability performance indicators

·       Develop and implement maintenance strategies to increase equipment availability and reduce failures.

 

Equipment Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

·       Diagnose mechanical and operational issues related to vibration, bearings, shafts, couplings, seals, lubrication systems, alignment, temperature, noise, and performance degradation.

·       Analyze equipment operating data and condition monitoring reports.

·       Perform troubleshooting during equipment breakdowns and emergency situations.

·       Recommend corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring problems.

·       Maintenance Execution & Turnaround Support

·       Lead equipment dismantling, inspection, overhaul, repair, assembly, alignment, testing, commissioning, and start- up activities.

·       Supervise maintenance contractors and service providers during routine and major maintenance work.

·       Participate in refinery shutdowns, turnarounds, and plant maintenance campaigns.

·       Ensure maintenance work is completed according to refinery standards, OEM requirements, and established procedures.

 

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

·       Develop and improve preventive maintenance programs for rotating equipment.

·       Promote predictive maintenance techniques including vibration monitoring, condition monitoring, thermography, lubrication analysis, and performance assessment.

·       Review inspection findings and recommend reliability improvement actions.

·       Ensure maintenance records and equipment histories are properly maintained.

 

Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCA)

·       Investigate repeated equipment failures and reliability issues.

·       Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and develop long-term corrective solutions.

·       Prepare technical reports and failure investigation documentation.

·       Recommend improvements in equipment design, operating practices, and maintenance strategies.

 

Training & Technical Development

·       Train and mentor local mechanical technicians and engineers in:

·       Bearing replacement

·       Mechanical seal replacement

·       Shaft alignment

·       Vibration monitoring

·       Lubrication management

·       Equipment overhaul procedures

·       Promote knowledge transfer and competency development within the maintenance team.

·       Develop practical maintenance guidelines and technical procedures.

 

OEM & Vendor Coordination

·       Coordinate with Chinese OEMs, equipment manufacturers, and rotary equipment specialists for technical support and complex troubleshooting.

·       Review OEM recommendations and ensure appropriate implementation.

·       Establish and maintain technical relationships with equipment suppliers.

·       Facilitate knowledge sharing and technical communication between OEMs and in-house engineering teams.

 

Engineering, Construction & Project Support

·       Review technical specifications, equipment datasheets, drawings, and engineering documents.

·       Support refinery expansion, modification, and debottlenecking projects involving rotating equipment.

·       Ensure compliance with international engineering standards and refinery best practices.

·       Provide technical input during equipment selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning.

 

Safety, Risk & Compliance

·       Ensure all maintenance activities comply with refinery HSE requirements and permit-to-work procedures.

·       Support risk assessments, incident investigations, and Management of Change (MOC) processes.

·       Promote safe maintenance practices and strong safety culture.

·       Ensure all rotary equipment activities comply with refinery standards, statutory requirements, and industry regulations.

 

Reporting & Communication

·       Prepare maintenance reports, failure analysis reports, and reliability performance summaries.

·       Maintain equipment maintenance records and technical documentation.

·       Coordinate effectively with Operations, Engineering, Projects, HSE, Procurement, and external service providers.

·       Communicate technical recommendations clearly to management and maintenance personnel.

·       Complete RCA investigations for major equipment failures.
